Amber Schnarre, Second Grade

Mrs. SchnarreHi! I would like to introduce myself, Amber Schnarre, as the new second grade teacher at Altamont Lutheran Interparish School. It is an honor and privilege to teach second grade at A.L.I.S. alongside many of the other wonderful teachers I had when I was a student. I am looking forward to a wonderful year of my students, "Soaring into 2nd grade."

I reside in rural Altamont with my husband, Nathan, and our three children, Brayden, Adilyn and Liam. I am a native of Altamont, graduating from A.L.I.S. and A.C.H.S., along with receiving my degree in Elementary Education from Southern Illinois University- Edwardsville. I have previous teaching experience with the St. Elmo School District, while taking the last eight years off to stay at home with my children and being a full-time mom. During this time, I had the opportunity to continue working with students by being in the classroom in the Effingham and Fayette County School districts through substitute teaching, extended leave of absences and volunteering opportunities in my children’s school, along with tutoring student’s in the community. All three of my children are now entering school (2nd, Kindergarten and Pre-K) and I have been blessed with the opportunity to return to the classroom full-time.

The joy I receive in having this opportunity to do a job I love with educating children and sharing the love of Jesus with my students daily is a true blessing and I look forward to this school year and the years to come!
