Ruth Ann Spilker, Teacher

Mrs. SpilkerHi!  My name is Ruth Ann Spilker, and I teach second grade at A.L.I.S.  It is an honor and a privilege to teach second graders at A.L.I.S.

The 2011-2012 school year is my 22th year as a teacher.  I taught at St John’s Lutheran Preschool in East Moline, Illinois, and at Immanuel Lutheran in Rock Island, Illinois, before starting to teach at A.L.I.S. in 1994.

At A.L.I.S. we learn about the great love of God shown through the gift of salvation which we receive through Jesus, God’s Son.   Our goal is that students will learn about Jesus and gain knowledge and skills that are needed to lead productive, Christ-filled lives.

The theme of the classroom is “Space”.  As we “launch” off on the school  year in August, and continue in the school year, we will focus on these words of Scripture, “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me,” Philippians 4:13.  It is my prayer that each student will work together on reading and writing skills, enjoy learning about the beautiful world God created, and study about the past to learn lessons for the future.
