Math

The Saxon Math 2 program is used in second grade. Instruction in these math skills is included in the program:

1. count by one, two, three, four, five, ten, twenty-five, and hundred

2. compare and order numbers

3. identify ordinal position to tenth

4. identify sorting and patterning rules

5. add and subtract two-digit numbers

6. measure to the nearest half-inch, centimeter, and foot

7. tell time to 5-minute intervals

8. count pennies, nickels, dimes, and quarters

9. identify geometric solids

10. identify lines of symmetry

11. identify angles

12. use tally marks

13. read and create pictographs, bar graphs, Venn diagrams, and line graphs

14. master basic addition and subtraction facts

15. master multiplication facts to 5
