Mary Zumwalt, Teacher

Mrs. ZumwaltWelcome. I'm Mrs. Zumwalt. I have been a teacher at A.L.I.S. since 1987. In Fourth Grade we will learn lots of new things and have lots of fun. Activities will develop the mind, body and spirit. Some of the things we will study and learn about during the year are:

God's love for all people
Multiplication and division
Regions of the U.S. - the 50 states
Parts of speech
New songs
Plants
Group games and activities
Bible verses, the commandments, the articles, the Lord's Prayer and its meaning, baptism, prayers and hymns
Writing stories
Different kinds of literature
Responsibility for own actions
Weather
Crafts

In addition to food, shelter, and clothing, people need fun, success and love. I love to learn but I also like to laugh and have fun. So laugh with your child every day...tell them that you like something they did, every day...and tell them that you love them, every day!

My family consists of my twin daughters, Catherine - married to Dustin Zumbahlen, and Elizabeth and my son, David, both attending Lake Land College. My family belongs to Bethlehem Lutheran Church in rural Altamont. As a family, we enjoy camping. We have traveled to all 50 states and visited many places. Many of these places are talked about during the school year.
