FIFTH GRADE BIRD DIARY

You will need to keep a bird diary in which you will need to identify and record 20 different birds. You will use one of the school’s guides for identification, but feel free to use others. If you find a bird you can not identify please ask me and we will look for it in different guides. These must be wild birds in a natural setting. (No chickens, tame ducks or geese, parakeets, etc).

The following information must be recorded for each bird common name, scientific name, date, and where found. On a scientific name the genus is capitalized and the species is not.

 The project is worth 40 points or 2pts. per bird. An additional 10 birds may be identified for 10 extra credit points or 1 pts. each.
