6th Grade Math Notes

I use the Accelerated Math curriculum in grade 5-7.  (See www.renlearn.com for more details about the program.)  The "Math at Hand"  handbook is used as a textbook resource for each student, along with the notebook containing notes given daily on selective objectives.  This program is a tremendous tool enabling the students to work at different levels geared to their ability level. It promotes skills of time management, self-motivation, and organization, which are so important in every level of academics and employment opportunities.  One of the biggest problems I face in teaching math is getting students to realize how much fun math can be, and to destroy the idea that math is too difficult for them to be successful.
