Music Program

My name is Dr. Mirta Donnelley and I will be in charge of the "Say Yes to Music" program this year.  I would like to introduce myself to you.  I hold a Bachelors degree in piano performance from the Federal University of Santa Maria, Brazil (South America).  After completing my undergraduate program, I came to the United States to work on a graduate program at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  I earned a Masters degree in Music Education and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Curriculum and Instruction through the College of Education with a specialization in music.

I have several years of experience in teaching piano as well as in teaching music education in public and private schools.  I love to teach and am looking forward to working with the students and teachers at ALIS.

The "Say Yes To Music" program consists of one 45 minute group lesson a week.  Groups will be organized according to age and ability level.  Tuition is $55.00 per month with part of the tuition going towards the ALIS music program.  Discounts are available for families with more than one child in the program.  Students are required to practice daily.

Students who already are a part of the "Say Yes To Music" program will move on to the next level.  There most likely will be a change in method books used thus far, but as much as possible changes should be minimal.  Please fill out the registration form (link below).
