Gail
Traub, PrincipalWelcome
to Altamont Lutheran Interparish School! The mission of this school is
“Through the love of Jesus Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, we
will equip God’s children to serve, with their parents, as responsible
Christians.” As a team the entire staff is working together to equip the
students at Altamont Lutheran Interparish School to serve the Lord with
gladness. This year’s Bible verse is “Trust in the Lord with all your
heart, and lean not on your own understanding. “ Proverbs 3:5
This school has a family, loving
atmosphere. The staff, parents and students work together to help the
children grow spiritually, physically and academically. Communication is
a vital part of working together. This communication continues to
increase with the use of the internet.
It is a joy and honor to be
called to serve Altamont Lutheran Interparish School since 2003 as
principal. This school is very special because it started over 150 years
ago when the small country churches built schools for their children.
Bethlehem, Immanuel, St. Paul’s, (Blue Point) and Zion Lutheran all had
little schools. The heritage from these schools is in Altamont Lutheran
Interparish School. It is truly a privilege to serve the Lord at ALIS.
The other schools that I have served at are St. John’s Lutheran School,
Mattoon, IL, Family of Christ Lutheran School, Fishers, IN, and Eagles’
Nest Preschool at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Effingham, IL. My
education includes a Bachelor’s Degree from Chapman College, Orange,
California, Masters Degree in Education from Eastern Illinois
University, Colloquy from Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois
and an Administrative Certificate (075) from Eastern Illinois
University.
My family is Don Traub, husband,
Ann (Traub) Weaver, Warren Weaver (son-in-law), Wesley, (grandson),
another grandchild expected in April, Julie (Traub) Wollenberg, Keith
Wollenberg (son-in-law), Lisa (Traub0 Blethroade, Ryan Blethroade
(son-in-law), Tate Blethroade (grandson) and Lexy Blethroade
(granddaughter). Don’s family is from the Dieterich area and my family
is from Wisconsin.
I pray that the Lord will
continue to bless Altamont Lutheran Interparish School in the future!
